Andrew Evershed

Procurement Manager

Joined ATE: March 2012

What do you do now?
Managing the supply chain, product cost management, negotiating with existing and potential new suppliers, new product development, resourcing and occasional marketing support.

What have you done before?
Before joining ATE I had my own business Britannia Direct, supplying floral packaging, sundries and giftware to the florist trade and garden centres nationwide. Prior to that I was a partner in a family business Britannia Nurseries in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire where we grew chrysanthemums, carnations and alstroemeria for the north London florist trade and also had a wholesale cash & carry, buying in from Holland other flowers and plants we didn’t grow ourselves. In my teens and twenties I also had a flock of sheep, (which started as a hobby) and reared lambs to supply the local butchers.

What is your favourite thing about working for ATE?

The sense of achievement when I secure savings or help bring a new product or own-brand product to market for ATE.

What do you like to do when you are not at work?
I enjoy woodwork, joinery and DIY and get satisfaction from helping friends and family. I enjoy walks and regularly go out with my wife and family.

If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

 Probably rib-eye steak and chips!
